Dear Michael Just to let you know as per our previous correspondence that Jan Gilda completed voyage to Croatia. Sailed from Troon, Scotland on 15th June 2004 and arrived to Croatia, Jezera at 1730 hrs on 4th August 2004.Voyage of just over 3000 Nm done in 44 days covering 3451 Nm (by log). First half of journey, Troon-Gibraltar, 1500 Nm done in 15 days. Mostly favourable winds with 2 days of calms and one day (22nd June 04) gale force Beaufort 9 in Biscay. Best day run 138 NM. Days of calms or adverse winds with strong currents required hard work for each mile gained eastward. Changing sails, reefing and beating on different tacks between Spanish and Italian coast and North African coast sometimes gaining only 20 Nm in a day. Motoring or motor-sailing at the times. Enroute stopped at: Ibiza, Pto. Empedocle, Sicily and Cortone in Calabria. Boat performed extremely well on the voyage without any damage. Even in the worst weather in Biscay on 22nd June we lay down for nearly 24 hours feeling comfortable and secure. Boat is now in Croatia and will remain there for some time. I would appreciate if you can send me a Vertue Pennant so I can take it to the boat and fly it. Leaving on 14th Sept. so hope you can send it soonest. Also please advise way of payment. Regards Capt.
